Being a food photographer on the West Coast is such a treat. The bounty of the Pacific Ocean meets the rich tapestry of local produce, and the culinary scene is as diverse as its breathtaking landscapes.
Not only does my job involve capturing the essence of dishes in a tantalizing and mouthwatering manner, but I also aim to convey the story that the chefs, restaurants, and clients I work with are trying to tell.
While I love all of the work I do, food photography might just be my favorite. Working with a vast array of flavors and textures, aromas and colors, I do my very best to make you want to try and grab that dish through your screen.
On top of all this, I collaborate with other home chefs and create meals and recipes of my own - so quite a few food photos in my portfolio are things I’ve created with my own two hands. (You can also find some recipes I have created on my blog!)
With this knowledge, I can help a client develop recipes, assist with food styling, or help you create content for your platforms.
I love working with natural light and food, as I find it captures a more accurate-to-life version of the colors and textures. I want you to see the food in my photo, go to the restaurant, and get exactly what I presented you. When I’m styling food or a tablescape for a photoshoot, I know that the food and drinks are the star of the show, and everything around it should complement and balance it.
My food and drink photography has been published in magazines, newspapers, and online, and you can find it on many restaurant’s social media accounts from Vancouver, British Columbia, and beyond.
You might even see me in action at major events around British Columbia (such as the annual Vancouver International Wine Festival!), with my camera in one hand and a fork in the other!
